A Weekend In The Lap Of Luxury -St. Peters Bay Barbados

Barbados has become quite famous for its luxury accommodations, with many of the properties ( especially in the port Ferdinand area) giving a new meaning to the term "lap of luxury." This past weekend my family enjoyed a little stay-cation in one of my all-time favourite resorts on this island. With so many of my family members living abroad when they come home family time is so important, and what better way to spend it than in a luxury resort right on the west coast, steps away from some of the best entertainment and restaurant in the famed port Ferdinand area.

This resort is located right next to the stunning One Sandy Lane property ( AKA the place Rihanna stays when she comes home) so you can understand that the resort is on the high-end side of tourist accommodation on the island. Instead of the usual type of hotel room ( one large room with two queen size beds and a bathroom) this resort deal exclusively in Villas ranging from 1 to 3 bedroom and then penthouses with 5 bedrooms and a private pool.

Dining

The dining at the resort seems to be exclusive to the property which can be a nice way to meet other guest and make friends if you're so inclined. We only had one meal at the actual resort ( the full kitchen in the villa made it easy to prepare our own meals)

but it was delicious and the staff was very accommodating, even making me a custom drink when I couldn't pick what cocktail I wanted.

The large pool area is divided by a beautiful bridge which is also a great spot for taking in the sunset.

(this room above is similar to the one i stayed in. The one below is similar to the master suite in our villa)

This weekend we stayed in a 3 bedroom villa on the 4th floor. I have to say my favourite thing about this villa would have to be the stunning view. with the family dining area set up on the patio facing the ocean, sunset dinner is a stunning show of oranges and pinks. The open but still completely private setup of the villas means the hot tub on the balcony is perfectly located to enjoy the sounds of the ocean with having a relaxing soak.

I stayed in one of the guest rooms, which featured a king size bed, private patio, walk-in closet and a bathroom fitted with a large tub, standing shower, double sink as well as a standard toilet.

As far as things to do, they're activities for the kids, paddle boarding, a full-service spa, snorkelling with the turtles and of course the whole city of Speightstown to explore.

Overall, If you can afford it, a villa like this is really the best way to do it. All the luxury and privacy of a single residence with all the amenities and services large hotel.
